Position SG
Shooting guard
Shot preparation starts off the ball.
This positional block is mainly for older, experienced players. Younger players explore all roles. Position is not a permanent label or determined by height alone.
Priority skills
- Footwork before the catch
- Shooting within your comfortable range
- Attacking closeouts and defending perimeter players
Example block within practice
8 min close-range form → 10 min catch-and-shoot → 8 min closeout 1-on-1. Release quality sets the distance.
What to observe
Record attempts and makes from the same distance with a note on balance. Do not add volume for a badge.
Nutrition follows workload
A long shooting session also needs regular meals. An energy drink is not a prerequisite for concentration.
